Harris If elected, Harris says she’ll use an executive order to ban assault weapons

Last year, more people died in Chicago than the total number of people who died from mass shootings nationwide in the past seven years combined.

306 people have lost their lives in mass shootings nationwide over the past seven years.

Chicago had 388 people fatally shot in 2023 and 405 in 2021.

The Washington, DC, Congressional Research Service defines a mass shooting as “any incident in which at least four people are murdered with a gun.”

If elected, Harris says she’ll use an executive order to ban assault weapons, which account for a fraction of this total, because guns are the problem.

The numbers don’t support that decision, and neither does the current president.

Someone also needs to remind her about Supreme Court decisions and the Second Amendment, or is she planning on tossing them out the window?
