Cody Clark, a lifelong Texan and resident of the greater DFW area for over three decades, is a candidate running for Texas Senate District 30. With roots in the Denton/Prosper/Aubrey community for the past 22 years, Clark is not just a proud Texan but also a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, numbering among the 212,000+ tribal members. His background includes nearly two decades of law enforcement experience, having served as a Police Officer with the City of Denton and as a member of the Denton County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Response Team.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Clark and his wife, Shelly, founded a business in 2010 aimed at providing life-sustaining care and housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Currently employing 100 individuals locally, their company, Avid Quality Care, operates group homes and foster/host care homes in Denton and Collin Counties, catering to around 130 individuals with IDD. Clark, as the Executive Director of Operations, has actively engaged in legislative matters, advocating for improved funding and support for IDD programs in the state.

Clark's journey from a Detention Officer to a Chief's Commendation recipient and his dedication to both law enforcement and the IDD community reflect a diverse background. Now, seeking public office, he emphasizes the need for responsible and respectful governance, particularly in addressing the funding shortfalls for IDD programs in Texas. With a family-oriented approach, Clark aims to represent the community's interests, focusing on the well-being of the most vulnerable citizens and their caregivers.
