2024 Candidate for U.S. Congress, Maryland District 1 - Blessing Oluwadare | Democratic Candidate

Blessing T. Oluwadare emerges as the democratic contender vying for the U.S. Congress seat in Maryland District 1. Originating from Nigeria, she navigated her path to American citizenship after winning the visa lottery in 2012. Born into a family of three children, she stands as her parents' only daughter. A graduate in English and Theater Arts from Ikere Ekiti University, Nigeria, Blessing furthered her education in the United States, earning an associate degree in nursing and pursuing a Master of Science degree in Information Security and Assurance from Strayer University.

Beyond her academic achievements, Blessing boasts a diverse professional background, ranging from teaching and working as a makeup artist to excelling in the entertainment industry as a newscaster, writer, producer, and musician. Her passion for music has resulted in numerous albums, and she has even graced the screen in Nollywood movies in Nigeria. Ordained as a Deaconess and lady Evangelist in Nigeria, Blessing currently attends RCCG Tabernacle of Praise in Edgewood, Maryland, reflecting her commitment to her Christian faith.

In her quest for public service, Blessing draws on her track record as a doer and a performer. Her vision revolves around safeguarding the interests of the state, community, and the nation. Married in 2018 and a mother of three, she emphasizes her mission to advocate for the most vulnerable communities, safeguard the well-being of working families, and uphold the Maryland dream for all, without bias based on gender, age, or race. Blessing's values are deeply rooted in her commitment to community welfare and equal opportunities for every individual.
