Robert Downey Jr. Doctor Doom Announcement May be a Hoax

Marvel made a lot of headlines at San Diego Comic Con following their announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU, not as Iron Man, but as Doctor Doom.

It’s naturally surprising for the studio to recast the face of the franchise for over a decade in order to bring him back following the death of his character Tony Stark at the end of Avengers Endgame. Naturally this is a divisive decision by Marvel, but others are speculating that maybe it’s less they are recasting Robert Downey jr. and more they are simply bringing him back.
