Judge Victoria M. Johnson brings a wealth of legal experience to her candidacy for Dougherty County Superior Court. With a career spanning over 15 years, she has served in various roles such as jurist, prosecutor, pro bono attorney, law clerk, and project director. Her commitment to community service is evident in her involvement with organizations such as the Liberty House Domestic Violence Shelter, the City of Albany/Dougherty County Ethics Board, and the Stop the Violence Taking Authority Board. Judge Johnson is a respected bar leader, having served two terms as president of the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association. Throughout her legal career, Judge Johnson has presided over a wide range of cases, from civil bench trials to felony and misdemeanor probation revocation hearings. Her tenure as a prosecutor for nearly a decade reflects her dedication to justice, handling cases that spanned from traffic offenses to sex crimes and murders. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Judge Johnson is an active member of her community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Albany, participating in the Junior League of Albany, and chairing the Local School Governance Team at International Studies Elementary School. Beyond her legal and community service, Judge Johnson has received numerous accolades for her outstanding contributions. She was recognized as Albany Herald’s Woman of the Year in 2021, selected for the Leadership Albany 2022 class, and honored with awards such as the Southwest Georgia 40 under 40 (2011) and the distinguished service award to the Dougherty County Bar Association (2012-2014, 2015-2016). A devoted educator as well, she continues her love for teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Albany State University. Judge Victoria M. Johnson, a member of the Georgia and Florida Bars, earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctor Degree from the Florida A&M University. She currently resides in Albany with her husband, Aaron, and their two daughters.
