JFK Warned America About "Soft, Chubby, Fat-Looking Children" in 1962

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy delivered a warning about the rise of "soft, chubby, fat-looking children" in America, addressing concerns about childhood obesity. At that time, 4% of U.S. children were classified as obese, with another 5% considered overweight. Today, these numbers have significantly increased, with 19% of children classified as obese and an additional 16.6% overweight. JFK advocated for mandatory and rigorous physical fitness programs in schools as a preventive measure against childhood obesity and to promote physical health among young Americans.
