Lee Greenwood’s iconic song “God Bless the U.S.A.” was performed as Donald Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention. 🇺🇸 Greenwood often performs the song at Trump’s rallies and other high-profile events when he steps onto a stage to speak. 🎤 Lee Greenwood wrote the song in response to the economic and social issues in the early 1980s and was inspired to write it after witnessing the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. 🌟 Trump started using the song after he and Greenwood made a deal to not only allow Trump to use it at his rallies but also have Greenwood sing it occasionally. 🎙️ "God Bless the U.S.A." was released on June 30, 1984, as part of Lee Greenwood’s album Staying Together and reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. 🏅 It’s certainly a fan favorite when Trump makes an appearance, so take a look at this clip seeing everyone sing along to it! 🎶
