In an effort to stop Venezuelan migrants living in Colombia from returning to vote against Maduro, Venezuelan authorities closed land border crossings.

However, determined voters found an alternative route, crossing Lake Maracaibo to reach polling stations.

This defiance highlights the strong desire among Venezuelans abroad to participate in the election despite government-imposed obstacles.
