WHY MY PREVENTABLE DEATH FAILED TO BE PREVENTED!

Hello!

In early January 2023, I was asked by someone I’ve know for a little while through the Doctor Who community to interview them on a matter of most enormous personal significance. It’s a topic unrelated to the television series that brought about our friendship. Not one I have spoken about before or have any prior knowledge or experience of. Nevertheless, I instantly accepted.

John White was a writer from Worcestershire in the UK, who’d guested on a previous Type 40 Extra. For as long as I’ve known John, he’s been mentioning his concerns for his own health. And frustrations in getting appointments and consultations and therefore any answers.
In mid-December he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This conversation is what he describes as a testimony. A chance for John to tell his story in his own words. Reach out to not just me, but you too.

Now, I’ll not pretend this makes for easy listening. However, it is my hope you’ll both make the time to watch and listen. Seek further reading should you feel a need; reach out to either of the charities related to Pancreatic Cancer John White wished to draw your attention to. Or any other related. And finally pass along a link to this video to anyone you feel may need it, on any level whatsoever.

My afternoon chatting to John, most of which is indeed here in this presentation, was humbling. Some who’ve seen it already, have remarked it was unexpectedly life-affirming and many other things. Maybe you’ll find some of that here too! As the saying goes: results may vary. John and I offer it to this audience with no expectations at all.

John passed away on Wednesday 24th July 2024. He asked that the video be shared again at this time.
