His Girl Friday is a 1940 US comedy movie directed by Howard Hawks. The film stars Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell and features Ralph Bellamy and Gene Lockhart. The story is an adaptation of "Front Page" and is about a newspaper editor, Walter Burns. Walter, played by Cary Grant, is about to lose his best reporter, who is also his ex-wife, Hildy Johnson. Hildy is played by Rosalind Russell, she is recently engaged to another man. Walter suggests they cover one last story together, which ends up getting themselves entangled in the case of murderer Earl Williams. Walter desperately tries to win back his wife.
