In the adults service, Ravi shares a topical sermon entitled “Deliverance and the Bible”.
While Jesus ministered to people in His ministry, He preached the gospel of the Kingdom, healed the sick and cast out demons. Demons, or disembodied evil spirits can cause harm to our body, soul or spirit. While we may disagree on the terms of “demon possession” of “demon influences”, their end goal is to seek to steal, kill and destroy. As the devil is a liar and father of all lies, demonic spirits operate in a web of deception.

Jesus said in Luke 10:18-20, "He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Due to Christ’s victory over sin and death, we have been given power over the enemy and his cohorts. However, our joy must be based on salvation and not deliverance.

Some have the tendency of over rating the power of the enemy as opposed to the Power of God. We must remember that we have a big God and a small devil. While it is true some bad things can be credited to the devil, we must also take the responsibility for other bad things which is purely human. Unable to tell the difference will cause us to cast out a demon that was never there.
