1 dead after truck goes airborne, crashes into balcony in Westwood

A person is dead after a driver slammed into two parked cars, went airborne and crashed into an apartment's balcony, according to police. The driver was headed northbound on Boudinot Avenue in a pickup truck Monday morning, Capt. Paul Broxterman said. Witnesses told police it looked like the driver was trying to make the light at Werk Road. Broxterman said the driver hit the brakes when the light changed, lost control and struck two parked cars near the intersection with Werk Road. The truck went airborne and crashed into the balcony.
