Episode 67 A Genesis 33

In this episode Jacob is traveling to the land of his family. He is going to meet Esau his brother. Jacob, who has been renamed Isreal By God. Jacob was confronted by a stranger at night, they ended up fighting all night. When the sun came up, Jacob asked him if they could rest, The man revealed himself as being God. He renamed him Isreal that means "contend with God."
So, Jacob/Isreal was injured and has a permanent limb from the fight. He discovered that Esau was coming to him with 400 men.
Jacob was concerned that Esau was on the warpath. So, he divides his tribe in half and sends 3 flocks of animals, sheep, goats, and cattle to his brother as a gifts, to placate him.
Then finally Esau receives the gifts, he understands Jacobs apprehension and consols him, they hug and kiss, and Esau assures Jacob of his brotherly love.
It was a very good meeting, Esau tries to return the gifts, but Jacob refuses and insists Esau keep the animals as Jacob is exceedingly blessed and assures Esau he does not need it.
This chapter is a good example of how brothers should treat each other.
