Much has been written about the "decline" of Elvis Presley in the 1970s and although the facts are clear that he died at the age of just 42, the reality was that during this time the King of Rock and Roll was still a clear presence in the wider pop scene. Elvis was arguably one of the early pioneers of what would be considered today as Adult Contemporary - a maturing artist who continued to sell records and sell out auditoriums right up until his untimely demise in 1977. This is a period of his life and career that is overdue for reconsideration.
