They were shot down over Japan and “Hap” was taken prisoner. He talks about bombing strategy and the operations, but he also speaks in depth about the brutal experiences in the P.o.W. camp. It was indeed brutal – beatings with rifle butts, refusal to let the prisoners use toilets and more atrocities by the guards.
