Shot on the Insta360 X3, today Marcela & I do the march from Leon, through Sutiava and down 12th street and up the hill to the fortress known as Fortín Acosasco, where we have shot the Dark History Tour in past episodes a few years ago. This is the annual walk with the FLSN (aka Sandinistas / Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional) to celebrate the 1979 taking of the fortress from the dictator Samoza who had been using it as a place to torture and kill political dissenters. July 7th is a very important day to all of Nicaragua, but is especially meaningful here in the Barrio of Sutiava where the Fortin as it is known locally, is located.

The fortress has stood as a threat to the residents of León since 1889 when it was erected by the conservative leader Sacasa to discourage dissent in the city of universities.
