It's been a year since the coup in Niger, when President Mohamed Bazoum was overthrown and military leaders took power.

Since then, the country has been living under new rules, both domestically and through its foreign policy. Niamey has sought to move away from the influence of Washington and Paris, and look eastwards to new partnerships.
