The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946)
"The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" is an American film noir drama released in 1946, directed by Lewis Milestone. The plot revolves around three childhood friends – Martha Ivers (Barbara Stanwyck), Sam Masterson (Van Heflin), and Walter O'Neil (Kirk Douglas in his film debut) – who share a dark secret from their past. Years later, their paths cross again in Iverstown, a town dominated by Martha and her powerful husband, Walter. Sam's return triggers a series of events that expose long-buried secrets and lead to a tragic confrontation.
