Dieu ordonne à Jacob de retourner à Béthel, le lieu où Dieu lui était apparu lorsqu'il fuyait son frère Ésaü.
Jacob demande à sa famille de se débarrasser des dieux étrangers et de se purifier en vue de ce voyage spirituel.
La famille de Jacob se prépare et part pour Béthel, protégée par Dieu contre les villes environnantes.
2. Jacob Érige un Autel à Béthel (Versets 6-7)

Jacob arrive à Luz (Béthel) et construit un autel en reconnaissance à Dieu, nommant le lieu "El-Béthel" car c'est là que Dieu lui est apparu.
3. La Mort de Débora (Verset 8)
