Kotaku Editor Backpedals | Called Japanese Gamers Dumb and Racist

Kotaku Senior Editor Alyssa Mercante is facing more criticism for accusing Japanese gamers of being racist for calling for historical accuracy in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Ubisoft has been facing a lot of pushback since the first trailer of the latest Assassin’s Creed game, but much of that was from Japanese gamers upset about the game studio misrepresenting Japanese history. Ubisoft made a half apology post on X trying to explain themselves to which Alyssa Mercante criticized the studio for trying to explain themselves to people she deemed to be dumb racists.
