"New Lows" was written in 2021 when I was 15, during the creation of my debut album, A Strange Suffering. Initially released in 2022, the song was later removed in a reissue that shortened the album significantly due to the tracks lacking quality and performance. This song captures my mental state at the time, grappling with anxiety and depression, feeling trapped in a negative situation. In 2024, I re-recorded the song, believing it had untapped potential.

This music video symbolizes the monotony of everyday life and was filmed exclusively on a 1989 Panasonic OmniMovie VHS camcorder. The goal was to capture the raw energy of American life and provide a moment of reflection. The meaning is subjective, inviting viewers to derive their own emotions and interpretations from these still shots. By using such an antiquated piece of technology, I aimed to instill a sense of timelessness and ambiguity.

"New Lows" now finds a new home on my second album, Toybox, where it fits the theme of childhood trauma.
