If you work backwards from that and you look at the number of blocks involved, and two and a half million blocks of stone, you're talking over 25 years, you have to have one block completed, cut, transported, put in place, perfectly aligned, all of that, one block every five minutes , 24 hours a day, seven days a week for 25 years, to build that structure in 25 years. Now, that doesn't take into account the enormous amount of ground work that has to go into these structures. Yusuf and I, we try really hard to show people, when you walk around the pyramid, the tendency is to look up at this thing and go, man, that thing is amazing. But what you should also do is look down at your feet, because beneath your feet have probably been years and years of work in terms of leveling the ground. In some places they put these huge floor tiles that are the foundation blocks for the pyramid. Some of them weigh more than 200 tons and fit precisely. It is like a lock that locks into the bedrock and the other blocks around them. You can't put a razor's edge between the gaps, which is something you see in almost all of this pyramidal architecture, which is utterly remarkable. That figure of one block every five minutes doesn't count all the others...#figure#pyramid#stone
