The House of Representatives is set to vote this week on a bipartisan commission to investigate the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The proposed panel, consisting of five Democrats and six Republicans, aims to examine the incident, where a 20-year-old gunman killed one person and injured two others, with Trump being shot in the ear.

The investigation will focus on the U.S. Secret Service’s handling of the situation.

House Speaker Mike Johnson supports the commission and its subpoena power, while Rep. Mike Kelly, who represents the district of the rally, is leading the bill.

The vote will bypass normal procedures, requiring a two-thirds majority for passage, Fox News has reported.
