In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses the best types of exercise for osteoporosis based on research. He compares high intensity versus low intensity exercise and the effects of medication. The high intensity group performed deadlifts, back squats, and overhead barbell presses, while the low intensity group followed a Pilates-based program called BuffBones. The high intensity group showed improvements in bone mineral density and bone strength, while the low intensity group had no change. The study also found that resistance training and impact training are important for bone health.
