You want to borrow my magic wand to turn your tiny terror into a sweet angel? You can't have it, it's mine! But I can offer you the next best thing. I'll guide you so you can guide your tiny humans. This book is for parents, teachers, therapists, and anyone who has children in their lives. It is a guideline to empathetic and explicit teaching of behavioral regulation and expectations.

Our mission? To raise a generation of emotionally intelligent, compassionate humans. Without losing our minds in the process.

Forget old-school punishments or books that only give you theory but don't tell you how to implement it! Typical behaviorism? Throw that baby out with the bath water! I present practical, research-backed compassionate techniques that empower parents, therapists, and teachers to prevent negative behaviors in children, respond to negative behaviors if they happen, and build up a child's skills to have positive behaviors.

Learn specific tools and techniques for children of all age groups (preschool, elementary school, middle school, and high school). This comprehensive guide is full of illustrations, case studies, stories, reflective questions, resources, study questions, worksheets, quick reference guides (specific strategies for specific behaviors, accommodations list, behavioral regulation inventory, goal bank, etc.) This book is different than any other book on "behavior management". It’s like having a Swiss Army knife for behavior challenges.

Beneath every behavior lies a child’s unmet needs and a lack of skills to meet those needs in a way us adults find acceptable. Our children are doing the best they can with the skills they have. And so are we. Do you want to learn how to:

See beyond behavior and understand underlying causes and factors that influence it?
Prevent and manage crisis, meltdowns, explosive behaviors, panic attacks, and tantrums with empathy and respect?
Address medical roots of behavior and optimize children's health and well-being, including interventions for poor sleep?
Support and understand children's social/emotional/behavioral developmental milestones?
Enhance children's brain function and executive function skills (including impulse control, cognitive flexibility, and social problem solving) through targeted activities and strategies?
Foster children's sense of safety and security and help them cope with trauma, anxiety, pathological demand avoidance, and rejection sensitivity?
Create a harmonious sensory environment and help children regulate their sensory needs?
Improve children's planning skills and confidence and overcome learned helplessness?
Effectively communicate with children, overcome counterwill, and foster cooperation and mutual respect?
Adapt to children's diverse abilities and create an inclusive and accessible learning environment?
Develop children's emotional intelligence and resilience and understand the science of creating positive long-term outcomes?
