WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO EARN IT?

What do you see when you look at the American Flag?
I see myself, I see my family, my grandfather, my uncles, my brothers, my friends,
my fellow Veterans. We paid the price so that you, who were born here could have the chance to be free.
While you were at home, with all your family and friends or safe asleep in your comfortable beds, we were out
shedding blood sweat and tears, that would follow us all these years. Some nights we would wake up with Cold sweats and wonder if we would ever make it home. Many of us live with nightmares of things we have seen to this very day. All so you could live the American Dream. So before you spit on or burn that flag, answer one question,
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO EARN IT? Just being born in this great nation isn't enough reason for you to disregard our sacrifice or earn that right. When was the last time that you woke up and cried at night?
We are not talking about our so called leaders here, we are talking about those who gave it all.
Your fellow brothers and sisters who put it all on the line just to buy freedom a little more time.
Before you call us names with your distorted political views remember what it was that we gave to you.
It is just a piece of cloth you may say? And even spread all your hate, tell that to the soldier who's coffin it drapes.
Tell it to the fallen who will never see a grave, tell it to the hero for the freedom for you they saved.
Tell it to the Men and Women in uniform who gave it all to you. When you stand up for our anthem with your
hand over your heart you honor the fallen and they didn't die in vain. You don't have to agree, but there are worse places in the world than America to be. Sometimes I even hear Veterans say, I would die for your right to burn that flag and those in my view are traitors to me. You can say nearly anything you like because you are free, but when you stomp on that cloth your disrespecting me. Doesn't really matter whether you like it or agree that cloth is a symbol of why you are free. There is a reason we never let that cloth touch the ground, remember that when you hear the twenty one guns sound. Remember that when that anthem plays, while you and your family enjoy those happy days. We do it for our children and we did it for you, to keep the forces of evil at bay and away from you.
When there are no more hero's and you are on your own the land you stand in will be your home.
Next time you pray, thank the Almighty God that you live in America instead of somewhere else in an unmarked grave, the unknown soldier no one knew his name, but he was a fallen hero just the same. If this song brings a tear to your eye, there might be a good heart beating in your chest and now you know why.
It makes me angry when that so called piece of cloth is not allowed to fly. It is not what it is made of that made this true, it is what the brave had done for you.
God Bless America for me and you just a little respect is all that any of us ask from you. Live your life and just be free, for I helped foot the bill this ones on the house from all of them as well and not just me. They call her old glory, with the red, white and blue and the stars and stripes United together please just give it a thought before you do what you do. God Bless America and God Bless you too.
