Basis of the second coming Part 2 - Coffee with Jesus Podcast
**Welcome to "Coffee with Jesus" Podcast with Bill & Brian!**
Today's discussion is part 2 of "Basis of the Second Coming." We're delving into the one condition that must be fulfilled before the Messiah can return to set up His messianic kingdom.
As we stated previously, the unpardonable sin discussed last week is a national sin and not an individual sin. Individual members of that day and that generation could and did escape the judgment by becoming believers. Nor is this a sin any individual could commit today, as it was never individual to begin with. The Bible makes one thing very clear: regardless of what sin anyone commits, every sin is forgivable to any individual who comes to God through the blood of the Messiah. The nature of the sin is irrelevant.
When Jesus died on the cross, He didn't just die for certain sins, but for every kind of sin, rendering all sins forgivable to anyone who comes to Him through His blood. However, for the nation of Israel as a whole, it is now unpardonable. This sin is uniquely limited to the Jewish generation of that day and is not applicable to subsequent Jewish generations after the year 70.
It was the Jewish generation of Jesus' day that He visibly and physically came to, offering Himself as the Messiah and the messianic kingdom. This generation rejected Him. The gospel repeatedly mentions "this generation" because it alone is guilty of this unique sin.
To summarize, this sin is unique to the Jewish generation of Jesus' day and is not applicable to other Jewish generations. No other nation could be guilty of this sin because the Messiah is not visibly present with any other nation as He was with Israel. Therefore, only Israel could be guilty of this unique sin.
The commitment of the unpardonable sin by this generation means two things: First, the offer of the Messiah's kingdom is now rescinded. They lost the opportunity to see the kingdom established in their day. Second, this generation faces a specific divine judgment, which came in the year 70 with the destruction of the city and the temple.
This event is comparable to two previous instances in biblical history where a specific generation went beyond the point of no return, making physical judgment inevitable. The first occurrence was in the Book of Numbers, chapters 13 and 14, with the sin of Kadesh Barnea, an oasis right under the border of the Promised Land.
Join us as we dive deeper into these truths, answering many questions we may have as believers. Please enjoy this very interesting topic and feel free to comment below. You can find "Basis of the Second Coming" right here on Brian Sanford Ministries' Facebook, YouTube, and Rumble platforms.
