China has placed 15 provinces on full emergency alert amid the increasing risk of major flooding as this year's peak rainy season approaches.
Deadly torrential rains that hit the southern region have moved north and affected the previously drought-stricken central province of Henan, as well as the northern province of Hubei. On July 14 (Sunday), four people died when their car was swept away by flood waters in Suizhou city in Hubei, according to the local fire department.
