An Indian Navy frigate has been severely damaged after it caught fire while undergoing maintenance at a dockyard in Mumbai. INS Brahmaputra caught fire on Sunday, with the fire being brought under control a day later. Eyewitness footage shows the entire middle part of the ship in flames, with black smoke billowing out across the water. The ship has been left floating on one side, almost capsized, and a junior sailor is missing following the incident.

‘Despite all efforts, the ship could not be brought to the upright position,’ the Indian Navy said in a statement, adding that a search operation is underway for the sailor.
