Cat Brain Games - Old cats do learn and change!

I have been orchestrating treat games with Roo for years now. It took on different levels a year or two ago. My girl cat Bear has recently totally gotten into it. Roo is confused because he has been given lots of privacy and time to figure out the games. Bear has made the game a lot more competitive. She used to count treats in his bowl versus hers before I ever started this.. then she would get her treats and he would have to play games. Now she is wanting to understand this whole treat game thing. She is jumping on the treats now, not assessing who got more or making sure everything is "fair". I have no idea what happened in her cat brain, but she did a 360 shift. She would turn her nose up and walk away from the games. Now she is all in and very assertive. Roo is confused by her new behavior and it has thrown him off his gaming routine. I am having to do this a bit different to de-escalate any treat aggression or any idea of scarcity. As you can see the boxes are different from any you have seen. The round holes in shallow boxes has been a real success. The bigger the flat shallow box the better. I go through boxes like crazy here. Each 5 day so they are getting new boxes with new dimensions, shapes and challenges.
