Welcome to my channel, where I go by the name RED. I'm a straightforward guy who's passionate about action figures and toys. My love for these incredible playthings began one Christmas when I received Shogun Warriors Godzilla 1977 and Dragun. That same year, I was gifted a voucher for action figures from a soon-to-be-released movie called STAR WARS, which was set to hit theaters in February 1978. These toys held a certain magic and ignited my imagination.
In 1982, a friend gave me an action figure named Cobra Commander from a line called GI JOE. Another friend presented me with the ultimate gift—a Sears Christmas catalog showcasing a series of action figures with even more articulation than the Star Wars ones. As I grew up in the 80s, my three loves became action figures, films, and heavy metal music.
However, as life progressed into the 90s and my twenties, circumstances changed, and I found myself disconnected from those childhood joys. The only action figures I have to this day are stored in a plastic container—my treasured collection of Joes.
But in 2020, a dream took hold of me—I envisioned a YouTube channel that would bring together all three of my passions. I realized that with the decline in the quality of recent films, I could carve a path for myself by combining action figures with filmmaking, particularly stop motion animation. Simultaneously, I could write and create the movies that I, as a viewer, longed to see.
Thus, Red Pill Animations was born—a channel where I not only review action figures but also aim to provide insights for fellow filmmakers, especially those interested in stop motion. The focus of my reviews isn't solely on collectors but on animators who seek a deep understanding of a figure's range of articulation.
As we embark on this journey together, we will not only build a community but also learn the art of filmmaking. I'm just one guy navigating the vast technological landscape, learning to thrive amidst a world dominated by Minecraft. It can be daunting, but like lava, my determination rises, and I hope that one day I can create movies that resonate with all of you.
So, join me on this channel as we explore the world of action figures, delve into the realm of filmmaking, and nurture a community that shares our passions. I may be just one person, but with your support, we can unlock the potential of this platform and bring captivating movies to life.
Thank you for being a part of this journey, and together, let's make our dreams a reality.
