Quintez Brown, who shot at Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg in early 2022, pleaded guilty to federal charges of interfering with a federally protected activity and discharging a firearm during a violent crime.

Brown, who initially pleaded not guilty, admitted to firing the weapon because Greenberg was running for mayor.

Federal prosecutors have recommended a 15- to 18-year sentence, with sentencing set for October 21.

Brown faced a maximum life sentence, the Associated Press has reported.
