Threat of poliovirus spread in Gaza amid humanitarian crisis

UN agencies and Palestinian officials report that the highly infectious polio virus, which can cause paralysis and death, is spreading across Gaza and has been found in sewage water in refugee camps. In response, the IDF has launched a polio vaccination campaign for its soldiers in the enclave. Over a million doses have also been delivered to inoculate Palestinians.
