The TOS crew, using the terrain features, moved to the position and fired a salvo of 220-mm thermobaric rockets at the previously received coordinates. Without wasting time, the servicemen moved the combat vehicle to the marching position and, using an anti-fire maneuver, left the firing position. The target was adjusted and controlled in real time by the crews of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The use of thermobaric munitions by servicemen allows the destruction of personnel hiding in trenches, fortified structures and in lightly armored vehicles.

“The vehicle is good, it works on area targets, it works accurately and precisely. We often go to firing positions and support our guys in front,” said the commander of the NBC protection detachment group with the call sign “Zircon”.

Specialists of the Central Military District NBC protection note the high firepower of the TOS-1A combat vehicles for their high efficiency in destroying deep positions and observation posts in various conditions.

“You know, we work in areas. The enemy is very afraid of it, because it is a very formidable weapon and no one has an analogue of such a system yet. There is nowhere to hide from it, that is why the enemy is so afraid of it,” said the commander of the combat vehicle, call sign “Patriot”.

During the special military operation, more than 1,000 servicemen of the NBC protection units of the Central Military District were awarded state and departmental awards.
