Motorcycle Crash on 146, 1 Person Flown, SCHWAB CITY, July 21, 2024 - At approximately 1:33 pm on July 21, 2024, a red 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Charles Lindsey, 63, of Livingston, was south-bound on US-146 near Sam Randolph Road. Lindsey swerved to avoid a bucket that was in the middle of the road and lost control of his bike. He left the pavement to the right and turned the bike over throwing the both him and his passenger (wife Denise) from the bike (both were wearing helmets). Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Nick Hatton with The Texas Highway Patrol. Charles Lindsey's right leg was pinned under the heavy motorcycle and was injured. Emergency personnel were able to free his leg and wrap it. A Air Life Medical helicopter landed on 146 and Flew Charles Lindsey from the scene. Lindsey's wife was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial. Traffic was blocked during investigation, cleanup and flight operations. Lindsey's motorcycle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker out of Livingston.
