Journey through the ACIM Manual For Teachers: M.4. Characteristics Of God's Teachers, 1.Trust

Don’t we all want to demonstrate a quiet mind, an open heart, and responsibility for all our thought forms and perceptions? That sums up what forgiveness and healing are all about, and what we’re here to teach and learn.

To assist this, we’ll journey through the Manual For Teachers in a steady fashion, opening to feel the wisdom of Spirit leading the way. Each class will cover a fascinating conversation and topics from the featured section of that day. Classes will include elements of reading, commentary, discussion, meditation/forgiveness exercises and questions & answers. Key among these exciting topics, and introduced early on, is the course’s view of time:

"In order to understand the teaching-learning plan of salvation, it is necessary to grasp the concept of time which the course sets forth."[CE M-2.2:1]

The Spirit, remember, already knows a supremely happy outcome for everything we seem to go through in our lives. To take every step with that certainty is to accept our happy function, and the aim of all teaching and mind training. Since our shortcomings are never a problem for the Spirit, should we continue to burden ourselves with them, or believe we can judge them in another?

"6 This is a manual for the teachers of God. ²They are not perfect, or they would not be here. ³Yet it is their mission to become perfect here, and so they teach perfection over and over in many, many ways until they have learned it." [CE M-In.6:1-3]

Trust makes everything clear and simple. When we’re honest and we remember who’s in charge, we won't fail to uphold sanity and peace. Our journey through the Manual will help us demonstrate what we’ve accepted: the loving correction for all our errors. Our acceptance naturally includes the healing of every error we perceive in our brothers and the world, and there are no exceptions. A present and happy perception in which judgement is impossible, is preceded by learning to overlook ego deception in all its forms. And this is healing, and we can teach it.

In the process, we’re certain to become more clear about what teaching and learning means in this 19 week course:

"1 The role of teaching and learning is actually reversed in the thinking of the world. ²The reversal is characteristic. ³It seems as if the teacher and the learner are separated, the teacher giving something to the learner rather than to himself. ⁴Further, the act of teaching is regarded as a special activity, in which one engages only a relatively small proportion of one’s time. ⁵The course, on the other hand, emphasizes that to teach is to learn, so that teacher and learner are the same. ⁶It also emphasizes that teaching is a constant process; it goes on every moment of the day and continues into sleeping thoughts as well. [CE M-In.1]"

Wow. Buckle up. A little turbulence is to be expected. But clear skies are guaranteed. We'll take this journey together. When we walk together we deepen together. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t drawn to formally teach A COURSE IN MIRACLES, these wisdom teachings help us keep our sanity by recognizing sanity must be shared. We join in dedication and devotion to love. Let’s be glad,

"You cannot give to someone else, but only to yourself. And this you learn through teaching." [CE M-In.2:6-7].

In Freedom and Love,
Brian and Alexandra
