Welcome to The No Dig Gardener, I'm Suzanne Walsh.
How to harvest your hardneck garlic, and deal with garlic rust to save your garlic harvest for curing and storage. Hardneck garlic with garlic rust may not store as long as garlic without garlic rust, but all is not lost. What causes garlic rust? Garlic rust is caused by a fungus and too much moisture. It can spread very quickly too. What are the signs of garlic rust? You'll see little rust red marks, patches start to form on the leaves, and at first this may well be ok, it can spread rapidly making the leaves useless. Don't worry though, I've got you back with garlic recipes for long term storage in other videos coming up.
