Spain vs England 2-1 |Goals|Highlights| final of Euro 2024
The trophy did not reach home again and the Spanish national team defeated England 2-1 with a spectacular performance and won the Euro 2024 tournament.
Finally, the match that European football fans have been counting for a long time has arrived, and it was Spain that had the last smile. In a 90-minute debate in which England did not have much to say and was deadlocked for many minutes, La Roja reached the Euro 2024 championship trophy with the performance of his attacking players. The first Euro championship after a brilliant year.
The game started with the least possible excitement and both teams played very cautiously. As the minutes progressed, it was Spain who had the ball more than the opponent and tried to score.
Their first serious chance was in the 12th minute when Nico Williams passed John Stones in the penalty area and had a chance to threaten Pickford's goal, but was blocked by a City ball defender's tackle.
A little later, Walker had a good opportunity to send the ball on the right, but his pass in front of the goal was not of the necessary quality and the Spanish defenders blocked it, so that England remained without a shot at the goal.
In the rest of the first half, the two teams were mostly competing for possession of the ball in the middle of the field, and the goalkeepers were among the most idle people in the field.
Kane's yellow card in the 25th minute due to a foul on Fabian Ruiz was one of the most important events of the game in these minutes.
It was in these moments that Morata could have made a big difference and scored, but while he had the ball in a great position in the penalty area, Stones' interference caused the opportunity to be lost.
The first half was ending without a chance and both teams could not create a chance. In the 45th minute, Bellingham got past his Madrid team-mate Dani Carvajal and sent the ball into the back of the box for Kane, but the Bayern striker's shot hit the defence. A minute later, Foden reached the ball on a free kick in the second post, but Simon easily received his shot to end the half with the same goalless result.
Between the two halves, Rodri left the lineup due to injury and was replaced by Zobimandi, and Spain was expected to start the second half with difficulty, but with the performances of Yamal and Williams, the first goal was scored in the 47th minute. The 17-year-old star, who became the youngest player to appear in the finals of national tournaments, moved behind the court and made a beautiful pass to Williams on the left side. Having escaped Walker well, he easily opened Pickford's goal and put Spain ahead.
A minute later, Spain had a chance to double their lead, but Olmo's dangerous shot in front of the goal went wide.
Despite the superiority of Spain, England was unable to threaten the opponent and La Roja was still attacking.
Moments after Olmo's goal and chance, Williams made a move in the back of the penalty area but his shot went narrowly wide.
Now it was time to change. Kane left and Watkins came on. England had taken the lead but Bellingham's beautiful move and then shot was not enough to score.
Spain was not idle either. In the 66th minute, Yamal had the ball in the penalty area, but his shot was caught by Pickford.
4 minutes later, Cole Palmer went to the field instead of Kobi Maino and it only took a few minutes to tie the game. An attack from Saka, a pass into the box and then a pass back to Bellingham put Palmer in a great position to shoot and the Chelsea star made it 1-1 with a beautiful low kick into the corner of the net.
In the 82nd minute, Yamal received the ball again in the area, but this time Pickford resisted and saved England with a spectacular save.
Four minutes later, Everton's goalkeeper was unable to do so. After Marc Cucoria's cross in front of goal, Mikel Oyarzabal put Pickford through with a calculated shot to give Spain the lead again.
England tried to avoid defeat in the remaining moments. In the 90th minute, a corner kick put Rice in a great position. His header was saved by Simon and then Toni's header went in but Danny Olmo cleared it off the line to deny England an equaliser.
In the continuation and 4 minutes of extra time, Gareth Southgate's students were unable to score or even create an attack, and finally the referee blew the final whistle and signed the verdict of the youth championship of Spain, and after Euro 2012, Spain once again managed to reach the He became the champion of these competitions.
