Revolutionizing Deer Control: Discover Trio, the New Gold Standard in Repellents!

In this episode of "Living The Wildlife" Podcast on Rumble, wildlife control consultant Stephen Vantassel introduces Trio, a groundbreaking new deer repellent. As part of the Pest Geek Podcast family, this episode delves into the intricacies of vertebrate pest control. Registered in the U.S. in March 2022, Trio stands out with its unique active ingredient—sheep's fat—setting it apart from other repellents like Plant Skid, which use bovine and pig's blood. Trio offers a residual effect of six to eight months and a shelf life of two years.

This ready-to-use product should be applied in temperatures between 35° and 85°F, avoiding direct sunlight and freezing conditions. The recommended dosage is .13 fluid ounces per plant or one to 2.2 gallons per acre, with a maximum of two applications per year. Important safety measures include a 12-hour re-entry interval, moderate eye irritation, potential skin rash, and the necessity of washing after application.

A study conducted in northern New York State revealed that Trio provided excellent protection at three of four sites for 12 weeks. While Plant Skid was effective at some sites, it was generally less reliable, and control plants without repellent suffered significant damage. Trio was also noted for its ease of application compared to Plant Skid, which had clogging issues.

Stephen recommends Trio for wildlife control operators, particularly those licensed to apply pesticides. He views deer repellents as a valuable business opportunity and encourages listeners to evaluate products based on effectiveness and cost.
