Hi guys,

We started our journey in Hokkaido and then traveled down to Tokyo. From Tokyo, we headed to the underrated Kanazawa. We explored Kanazawa on foot, clocking over 20,000 steps daily. The best way to explore a place is by foot. Our first day in Kanazawa was amazing. We traveled from Tokyo to Kanazawa by Shinkansen, which is super convenient. It only took us about 2 hours.

Using the Shinkansen is convenient as it eliminates all check-in time at the airport and the wait time for departure and arrival. On our first day in Kanazawa, it was raining, but on the positive side, we witnessed the beautiful Kanazawa town. You get to see a different side of it when it rains. It is a beautiful and unique town.

What is amazing about Kanazawa? It is all about the traditional buildings, being away from urban life, beautiful scenery, and getting to know the history and culture of this town. We explored most of the town area in Kanazawa on our first day, including:

-Higashi Chaya District
-Myoryuji
On our second day, we visited Kanazawa Castle, which is amazing. The building and structure really amazed us. It is huge, has lots of walking, and is a great place for picture taking. We then went across to visit the shops, had some food, and took a stroll. The traditional buildings are really beautiful, and you do not get bored or tired of admiring them. We also visited the Oyama Shrine.

On our third day, we took a day trip to Shirakawa-go by bus. You can buy bus tickets from the JR station in Kanazawa. Please note that you will need to buy them before boarding the bus. Don't be like us! You can buy the ticket on the West Side of the JR station Kanazawa at Bus Stop 8. The ticket costs 2600 yen per person and it takes around 1 hour to arrive at Shirakawa-go village. The ride is amazing as you get to see beautiful scenery along the way!

After Shirakawa-go, we initially wanted to go by bus from there to Takayama. However, we realized that we could use our JR pass to go from Kanazawa to Takayama at a little extra cost, as mentioned in the video. I think it is better this way as Takayama is really beautiful and we wanted to spend a full day there rather than rushing from Shirakawa-go. From Shirakawa-go, we decided to stop by Toyama. We did not include that in the video because we were not sure if the viewers would be bored of our walk around Toyama randomly.

Lastly, we took a day trip from Kanazawa to Takayama using our JR pass. In the video, it detailed the stops we had to make and the amount we needed to pay extra to get to Toyama. It is around 2 hours travel, which is more or less the same as taking a bus. But it was cheaper for us since we already paid for our JR pass. One of our favorite places is Takayama. It is beautiful with lots of things to see. A really good and interesting place to visit.

I hope you enjoy the video.
