A Deeper Look At Modesty | Part 2

In my lesson titled: A Deeper Look At Modesty | Part 2 ... I continued addressing the emotional and controversial Bible topic of modesty. Immodesty is a prevalent issue in this world today... As well as inside the Lord's church!

This lesson has three main sections in it. In the first main section of this lesson... I discussed three Old Testament passages that help show us the importance of the issue of modesty. Those passages included Genesis 9:20-27... Genesis 38... Specifically... Genesis 38:14-15... And 2 Samuel 11:1-5. From these passages... I drew out some important truths that apply to the topic of modesty.

In the second main section... I shifted my focus over to the impact that modesty and immodesty have on other people... And the impact that they have on the Lord's church.

In the third and final main section... I shared a powerful excerpt from a church bulletin on this topic and a helpful aid that we can look to when considering this topic. This excerpt from a church bulletin and this aid were both specifically designed for women... However... Since modesty is a command for every male and female... All men can glean some great wisdom from the things stated in this section too!

God's word is the ultimate and final authority in all spiritual matters! I only want you and others to accept the words that I have spoken in this lesson if they line up with what the Bible teaches.

I invite you to put the words that I have spoken in this lesson to the test... Go and search the Scriptures for yourself... And see if what I have said is true. Always check and make sure that what I teach and what anyone else teaches lines up with what the Bible teaches!

Be like the noble Bereans who "received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11). In 1 Thessalonians 5:21... Paul said, "Test all things; hold fast what is good."
