The EU wants your blue tick

An off the top of my head teabreak, no script.
And perhaps an opener for next weeks blog post at www.goodgriefgalaxy.com
Todays teabreak is all about the EU taking Elon Musk to court for his blue tick verified users scheme
The EU Commission Finds that X’s changes to the requirements for a blue tick violates a part of the EU digital Services Act (DSA)
If I've understood the EU are trying to say that as soon as a regular member of the public sees a blue tick on X, they automatically believe whatever information that is shared is the authority and should be believed
Apparently the EU believe that for those reasons just mentioned the new paid for blue tick subscription is deceptive and infringes DSA legal regulations
The EU Commission has reportedly found that the capacity to buy blue ticks is akin to promoting misinformation, because the appearance of a blue tick adds legitimacy to an account.
I find this a preposterous supposition and one that can't be based in any fact surely?
But what do you think and do you see a blue tick and automatically agree with whatever the content creator is sharing?
I know i don't
Enjoy your tea xxx
