Deadly fire engulfs shopping mall in China

Black smoke poured out of a shopping mall in the southwestern Chinese city of Zigong as fire engulfed the building housing a department store, offices, restaurants and a movie theater. 16 people have been reported dead. A preliminary investigation showed that the blaze was caused by construction work, according to the local media.
