Genesis 28:10-22: Jacob leaves his home and travels to Haran. He stops to rest for the night and has a dream of a ladder reaching up to heaven, with angels ascending and descending on it. God promises Jacob the land on which he lies and assures him of His presence and protection. Jacob awakens and consecrates the place, naming it Bethel.

Psalm 39:7-13: The psalmist reflects on the brevity of life and the vanity of accumulating wealth. They pray for deliverance from sin and ask God to hear their prayer. The psalmist acknowledges their frailty and pleads for God's mercy, expressing hope in Him amidst affliction.

Proverbs 13:20: This verse advises that whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 14:7: The verse states that stay away from fools if you don't want to hear wise words.

John 10:1-21: Jesus uses the metaphor of a shepherd and his sheep to illustrate His relationship with His followers. He contrasts Himself with thieves and robbers who come to steal, kill, and destroy, emphasizing His role as the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. Jesus also speaks about His authority and the unity between Him and His Father.
