Dateline Disney was an ongoing segment on the Disney Channel that would air between programs that kept the general public abreast on the latest happenings with the Walt Disney Company. This covered film releases, theme park events and updates, Disney Channel projects and more. This installment centers around 1992 rerelease of Pinocchio.

The Walt Disney animated features were reissued on a 7 year cycle. Starting in the 1980's, these rereleases often featured restored prints of the film. This segment focuses on the original creation of the film as well as the restoration. We hear from Disney Legends who worked on the film such as Ward Kimball, Frank Thomas, and Ken Anderson (in what may be his final ever interview) as well as modern Disney animators such as Glen Keane.

Pinocchio's film negative suffered severe water damage so until digital technology all restorations had issues with them. This was the last theatrical release for the film.

Original airdate June 1992
