Democratic National Committee leaders are moving quickly to confirm President Biden as the party’s presidential nominee by the end of July, despite internal party doubts following his poor debate performance.

Biden is set to be officially nominated through a virtual roll call weeks before the Democratic National Convention in August.

However, some House Democrats are pushing for changes to allow potential challengers, amid discussions from donors about alternative candidates.

The rules committee will begin meetings soon, with expectations that about 80% of delegates will support Biden’s nomination, though the process could face pressure from lawmakers and donors, DNYUZ has reported.
