Throughout the many live-action Superman movies and TV shows that have come over the last few decades, there have been various approaches to Lex and Clark Kent's dynamic. With Superman having Hoult and Corenswet play the respective characters, as the actors are close in age in real life, the DC Universe may be taking the long run with Lex and his hatred for the Man of Steel. Given the long history they have in the comics, the Lex and Superman rivalry could be fleshed out to last for several years in the new franchise.

With Gunn's DC Universe, this could also be the first movie franchise to finally have Lex perhaps even take Superman on physically. From his famous Lexosuit to the DC arcs where he even has powers, the DC Universe can tackle Superman and Lex's war, both philosophically but also in a way that brings new stakes for their relationship in the world of live-action. If Lex even ends up being one of the main antagonists of the DC Universe, the Superman movie can perfectly seed the idea for him to get a larger role in future films and TV shows.
