Elosmar Franco de Barros, of Juazeiro do Norte, Brazil, found himself wrapped up in this classic conundrum on Sunday, when after a day of heavy construction work at a popular rodeo site, and a night of heavy drinking at the same site, he became stuck in his bulldozer, and stuck in traffic. With the kind of decisive, yet impulsive violence you only get in Brazil, De Barros began giving the traffic a dose of reality.

His JCB plowed through the traffic, crushing and overturning cars and their occupants with equal abandon. The traffic doubled down, refusing to budge, with the commitment to immobility demonstrated by the clueless drivers getting out of their cars and filming. They could have chosen to not be slow-moving traffic, to just drive away, but no, they chose violence. De Barros’ rampage injured several, including one person who broke their foot and was taken to hospital.

The police did not appreciate de Barros’ industrious and direct approach to traffic management, and arrested him at the scene. He was charged with damage to property and driving under the influence of alcohol.
