Russian guards seek to shoot with rifle Ukrainian drones attacking oil base

A video footage has emerged of Russian guards attempting to shoot with rifle Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, UAVs, at an oil base in Russia. The footage circulated on a Ukrainian Telegram channel shows guards desperately attempting to down drones that were launching attacks on oil bases. However, the guards did not succeed. The incident comes amid intensified Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory targeting oil refineries and terminals in an attempt to weaken Russia’s war machine. In the latest of such attacks, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Tsimlyansky district in Russia’s southeastern Rostov region in the early hours of Saturday. The oil depot caught fire as a result of the attack that was the latest long-range Ukrainian strike on Russia’s Rostov region. Since the start of the year, Ukrainian drones have attacked over fifteen Russian refineries and several oil depots, which has also involved attacks on major steel plants. Ukraine argues it is targeting Russia’s energy sector because Western sanctions have had only limited impact on Russian economy.
