Haluski - Cabbage and Noodles
Ingredients:
1 medium head of cabbage, cored and chopped
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 package (12 oz) egg noodles
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Cabbage and Onion: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the Cabbage: Stir in the chopped cabbage and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

Combine and Serve: Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet with the cabbage and onions. Toss well to combine and heat through for an additional 5 minutes.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the Haluski to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve hot.
